I have lived in Wendover and the surrounding villages for over 14 years with my partner and son who moved finished Year 6 at Wendover Juniors in 2017. I am a qualified teacher and have taught in Buckinghamshire primary schools for the last 14 years. I have been headteacher of 2 of these school during that time, both Church schools, and am currently also working with Buckinghamshire Learning Trust as a School Improvement Advisor supporting schools and their governing bodies with school development. I have a particular interest in how pupils learn and growth mindset practices in schools. I was very pleased to have been appointed as an associate governor at WJS in December 2015 and look forward to working in partnership with the school to ensure that all pupils experience the best possible education and are given opportunities to extend their learning experiences.

I have been a parent governor since November 2013 during a time of great change and have recently been re-appointed for a second term. I have lived in Wendover for 10 years and currently work in a family business. I am a member of both the Resources Committee and the Curriculum Committee and am the governor responsible for Health & Safety issues. My youngest child currently attend WJS, and my 2 older children both completed their primary education here. I believe the school has a very caring ethos which provides a very happy and secure learning environment for our children. It is a great privilege to be able to serve the school and the community of Wendover in the role of school governor.

  • Mr Mike Connolly

    Foundation Governor

A qualified accountant, I enjoyed a career of nearly 40 years in finance and general management before retiring in 2001. My wife and I have lived in Wendover since 2014 and are members of St Mary's Church. I joined the governing body in May 2017 as a foundation governor. Through my experience and faith, I passionately believe that every child has a right to be taught and encouraged to achieve their full potential in a school environment which reflects the Christian ethos of love, respect and care for others. I hope to support the staff at WJS in providing this so that their pupils will fondly remember and value them in later life.

  • Rev Sally Moring

    Vicar & Foundation Governor

Following my appointment as Vicar of St Mary's Church Wendover in the summer of 2017, I was delighted to join the governing body of Wendover CE Junior School. I look forward to working together to strengthen links between church and school.

  • Foundation Governor

    Vacancy

  • Mrs Emma Carroll

    Co-opted Governor

I became a school governor in 2011 and currently serve as Vice-Chair of the governing body as well as joint chair of the Resources Committee.  I have lived in Wendover for over 10 years and have 2 young daughters, both of whom attend the Junior School .  I therefore have a strong interest in the welfare and performance of the school. As a governor I have the opportunity to assist and support the school staff in achieving its aims.  The school is going through a period of growth in terms of physical size, stature and pupil achievement.  As a governor I aim to ensure that this momentum is supported through careful decision making and scrutiny, whilst always keeping in mind that pupil welfare remains a top priority.  I work as a fundraising manager for a local charity which means that I am constantly looking for the best value in all purchases and understand the importance of building strong relationships within the community.  I am therefore a firm believer in the school playing an active role in the local community for the benefit of the pupils and the rest of Wendover.

  • Mr Maurice Williams

    Co-opted Governor

I have lived in Wendover for the last 12 years with my wife who has recently returned to full time teaching. Previously a parent governor for 4 years, I became a co-opted governor when my youngest daughter moved on to secondary school in 2017. I am chair of the Teaching & Standards Committee and the link governor for maths. I believe that governors should work with the school to ensure the best possible experience for the pupils, parents and staff that will be part of WJS not just during the tenure of the current governors but well into the future. I am hoping that I can bring some of my experiences and skills from working in the public and private sectors to support the school in reaching its vision that our pupils will leave us with a desire to continue learning and as good citizens.

  • Mrs Lynne Heaton

    Parent Governor

Following a stint in Dusseldorf, I moved to Wendover in 2014 with my husband and two children who have both attended WJS. I have worked in retail head offices for 20 years and have extensive commercial experience. I was elected as a parent governor in October 2017 and am excited to join various committees and see how I can offer something back to the school. I feel privileged to be in this position and look forward to serving WJS and the wider Wendover community as a school governor.

  • Mrs Jocelyn Longo

    Parent Governor

I was delighted to be elected as a parent governor in November 2015; my daughter has recently moved to secondary school from WJS and I have been very pleased with the high quality of education she has been lucky enough to receive. I trained as a teacher, before becoming a lawyer, and I have continued to have a keen interest in education. I have joined the Teaching & Standards Committee and am a link governor for English and The Arts. I became a parent governor as I firmly believe that in order to achieve the highest possible standards of education for our children, we need to become fully engaged in supporting the school in its endeavours. I believe that effective interaction between parents and the school are key to achieving this.
