School Uniform

Here at WCEJS we expect a high standard of personal appearance through our uniform and dress code and would like to thank all our parents who support this uniform policy by ensuring students come to school in the correct uniform.

Girls’ uniform
• Grey skirt, pinafore, trousers or culottes (Y6 pupils are currently permitted to wear black instead of grey)
• White polo shirt or blouse
• Red School sweatshirt or cardigan
• White, grey, red or black socks/tights (no multi-coloured socks or tights)
• Flat black shoes with closed-in-toe (no boots)
• In the summer term girls may wear red and white checked dress or grey shorts/culottes (NB skirts, pinafore dresses and shorts must be knee length as anything shorter is not appropriate for school)

Boys’ uniform
• Grey school trousers or shorts (Y6 pupils are currently permitted to wear black instead of grey)
• White polo shirt or white collared shirt and tie
• Red school sweatshirt
• White, grey or black socks
• Black shoes (not trainers and no logos or coloured markings)

Footwear
In the summer term, children may wear black, brown or white closed toe sandals.

PE and Games
• Plain t-shirt in their house colour
• Plain black shorts
• Trainers (for outdoor games)
• Tracksuit bottoms/jogging trousers (cold weather only)
• Sweatshirt/tracksuit jacket (cold weather only)
• Named PE bag

Hair and Jewellery
Long hair should be tied back at all times. Earrings may be worn but must be small plain studs which the child must be able to remove themselves for PE lessons. Watches may be worn but no other jewellery; we will ask children to remove other items if they wear them to school. (NB If jewellery is to be worn for religious or medical reasons, a letter of explanation to the Headteacher is required.) We also request that children do not wear nail varnish or facial make up to school.

The following are items that often transgress our uniform guidelines:
• Multi-coloured socks or socks/tights of an inappropriate colour
• Shoes that are, in reality, trainers
• Boots/ankle boots
• Skirts that are of an inappropriate length
• Nail varnish/facial make up
• Loop earrings

We will not permit any of the above six bullet pointed items. The vast majority of parents ensure that their children come to school wearing the correct uniform. In the few cases where uniform guidelines are not adhered to it is because of parental choice in purchasing such items. Staff will follow up all inappropriate uniform, jewellery and make up.

Uniform is available to purchase from our supplier, PL Schoolwear. Please note we do not hold any stock at school but once a year, in the summer term, we do hold a uniform sale.

PL Schoolwear is based on Edison Road, Rabans Lane Industrial Estate, Aylesbury HP19 8TE, 01296 488000, info@the-print-lab.co.uk.
